Start with the paperwork that may be urgent
If you received a DDS notice, bring it and its envelope promptly. Waiting for your court date can leave a separate administrative deadline unaddressed. An appointment request does not preserve a deadline or authorize driving.
A former prosecutor’s perspective
I am J. Michael Spence, a former Richmond County prosecutor with more than 35 years in practice. I review the stop, recordings, statements, testing, and the circumstances of any refusal. The evidence and applicable procedure determine which issues deserve attention; a particular result cannot be promised.
A focused place to begin
Use the license guide to understand the ALS hearing issue, the defense guide to organize questions about the evidence, and the preparation page to gather useful papers. You can call my office directly from any page. My office is in Martinez, serving Augusta and surrounding counties.
